New CD: Spare Change

We've got a new EP out: Spare Change. It has 6 songs - 4 previously unrecorded ones, and 2 new versions that had to be done because Dan keeps coming up with better percussion kits.

We're really happy with it. It's a good representation of what we really sound like. We've come a long way since the 2003-4 recordings on the previous CD.

New songs: Spare Change, Sound Cheque, Grey Sea Shanty and Samba
Great new versions of: Tango and Cordoba

It's available from us: $15 will cover getting it posted to you if you're in Australia. We'll be doing a launch in a few weeks in Launceston, somewhere. Watch this space!

New Zealand Tour April 2010!

We're off to New Zealand in April for the National Conference of the Association of New Zealand Leather Artisans and a tour of the South Island. We still have a few openings for gigs in the Christchurch, Nelson and Oamaru areas, especially daytime ones (schools, museums, etc.)

Here's one: Saturday, 17 April, 7:30pm
Where: The Nut Point Gallery, West Melton

More details will follow! Stay tuned.

And we promise pix from the tour!

2009 highlights

It's about time to get caught up here!

We had a good weekend in Melbourne in October, playing at the wonderful Box Hill Community Centre for the Boîte World Music Cafè. We set up our instruments exhibition-style with sound installation for pre-concert viewing. It's such a great venue.

We got to do a workshop with the MSO's ArtPlay graduates later that weekend. That was great fun. What a fantastic group of kids - real mature musical sense and whimsical creativity. It was way cool to create music together: they played their instruments and interacted beautifully with ours. Thanks to Gillian and Katherine for the opportunity!

In December we played our first wedding at Franklin House historic home in Launceston. Elegant!

In January, we opened the Launceston City Park summer Sunday music series. We had a lovely day, with plenty of appreciative picnickers. Another wonderful place to play.
